[13:14]<Tux2> lol, okay, I'm reading on how to write perl code...
[13:14]<Tux2> (It seems that I need to write some now....)
[13:15]<sonicrules1234> Why?
[13:15]<sonicrules1234> What are you going to use it for?
[13:20]<Tux2> Um, for reading the temperature off of a USB thermometer every 30 minutes. If temperature > 80F then send and email to us.
[13:21]<Tux2> http://www.perl.org/books/beginning-perl/
[13:21]<sonicrules1234> Ah
[13:21]<sonicrules1234> Cool
[13:23]<Tux2> Yeah, the code to read the teperature was fairly easy (I just copied someone else's code), but now I need to write the code that actually does something with it...
[13:24]<Tux2> I've got a TEMPer USB thermometer that I am working with.
[13:25]<sonicrules1234> How much is it?
[13:25]<sonicrules1234> Or, how much did it cost?
[13:26]<Tux2> Um, $7
[13:27]<Tux2> But it took 6 weeks to get here... this one should get there faster: http://www.amazon.com/TEMPer-USB-Thermometer-w-Alerts/dp/tags-on-product/B002VA813U
[13:27]<Tux2> same thing I have
[13:44]<sonicrules1234> Who build those huge new structures in minecraft?
[13:47]<@jacky> be back later
[13:47] * jacky (the_kink@mib-D938042C.slsbmd.east.verizon.net) has left #glitchpc
[13:47]<sonicrules1234> *built
[14:36]<Tux2> which structures sonicrules1234?
[14:37]<sonicrules1234> You can see the structures from the rail near my house when its going over the beach

[20:13]<@BC_Programming> heh I've watched my latest video myself at least a dozen times
[20:13]<Tux2> lol!
[20:14]<Tux2> Stupid classes weren't serializable, so I had to figure out another method of saving stuff to disk...
[20:14]<Tux2> in my minecraft plugin...
[20:14]<@BC_Programming> weak
[20:14]<@BC_Programming> I just resolved my own serialization pickle yesterday
[20:15]<Tux2> nice!
[20:15]<@BC_Programming> adding "Triggers" to baseblock <properly>
[20:15]<Tux2> I'm just about done with mine.
[20:15]<Tux2> I just found the last piece to my puzzle.
[20:15]<Tux2> BC_Programming, how would you like this on the server? http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/mech-nextstation-0-2-your-favourite-stations-announcement-system-670.6572/
[20:16]<@BC_Programming> looks pretty cool
[20:17]<@BC_Programming> for my serialization problem it was retarded... the List<T> was being deserialized without errors but it was just filled with a bunch of null entries...
[20:17]<@BC_Programming> It turned out, that I'm not supposed to try to deal with the deserialized stuff right in the deserialization constructor, implemented another serialization interface so I could work with the info after the entire object graph was deserialized and it works now :P
[20:18]<@BC_Programming> I'm still not sure who "Liked" my video
[20:18]<@BC_Programming> If it was Graham I will be quite surprised
[20:20]<Tux2> lol...
[20:20]<@BC_Programming> I'll make him into a brony one day
[20:20]<Tux2> Someone else made a video of my plugin...
[20:20]<Tux2> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-xxR8sFuuo
[20:20]<@BC_Programming> cool!
[20:22]<Tux2> Yeah. :D
[20:23]<@BC_Programming> nice he gave you 5 out of 5
[20:23]<Tux2> I know! I was really surprised. :D
[20:24]<Tux2> He had it set to the farming method, so I guess the 5/5 rating belongs to the person who suggested that mode to me. :D
[20:41]<Tux2> Okay, so now to test the new saving method!
[20:46]<Tux2> Oh YES!!!!! it's working. :D
[20:46]<@BC_Programming> cool
[20:49]<Tux2> so yeah, I would have to say that all that research into the cryptic javadocs for bukkit was worth it. :D
[20:52]<Tux2> so yeah, I could probably build a brick palace with all the clay I've made on my test server...
[20:56]<Tux2> now that I've tested it, I need to turn the debug flag to false and package it...
[21:26] * Tux2 (Tux2@mib-8879CD63.hlrn.qwest.net) Quit (Quit: If your computer breaks, don't blame me. I just walked away....)

[22:18]<@BC_Programming> heh making another video to a queen song
[22:18]<Tux2> lol, I'm making a plugin to make it so that it doesn't rain as often in minecraft.
[22:18]<@BC_Programming> nice
[22:19]<Tux2> Yeah, the code is based off of the NoWeather Plugin
[23:20] * Tux2 (Tux2@mib-8879CD63.hlrn.qwest.net) Quit (Connection reset by peer)
